Where does our water come from?

The source water for the Buckeye Water District is the Ohio River. From our Raw Water Pumping Station located at the Ohio River mile marker 47.25.

Water is pumped to our state-of-the-art Water Treatment Plant located at 17547 St Rt 45 Wellsville, Ohio for treatment and distribution.

Is the District Licensed?

We have a current, unconditional license to operate our water system.  We at Buckeye Water District work around the clock to provide clean, quality water at every tap.

How is water quality regulated?

Each year, our water is tested by the Environmental Protection Agency and we are mandated to share this report with the public.  The Annual Water Quality Report (sometimes referred to as the “Consumer Confidence Report”) is required under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

How do I start service at my business or residence?

To open account, you must complete a New Water User Agreement form, available at our office.
